Support the Massachusetts Home Protection Act

The following bill was filed on 1/20/2023 in the Massachusetts State Senate and House of Representatives to establish a municipal tax assessment increase limit on residential properties to protect Massachusetts residents from losing their homes due to a consecutive 10 year period of increasing tax assessments. This bill does not limit how much tax levy a municipality can collect, but it will limit the property taxes due on residential properties. Further updates to this bill should grant municipalities that vote in favor of this Act to have discretionary authority to determine the Residential Factor.
